Cerritos (formerly known as Dairy Valley because of the preponderance of dairy farms in the area) is an affluent city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, and is one of several cities that constitute the Gateway Cities of southeast Los Angeles County. It was incorporated on April 24, 1956. The former postal ZIP code of Cerritos was 90701 and was shared with the city of Artesia; however, it was later changed to an exclusive 90703 to accommodate the increasing number of new addresses in the City during the mid-1990s.
